Since December, Fruitland resident Riley Lee Collick, has been wanted by authorities in connection to the murder of 32-year-old Alejandro Ronald Exantus in Wicomico County in December.
Maryland State Police officials say that over the weekend, the chase came to its conclusion and Collick has been taken into custody.
On Friday, June 9, Collick, 44, was apprehended by US Marshals at an apartment in Moorestown, NJ, and is being held there pending his extradition back to Maryland to face a first-degree murder charge.
According to state police, the initial investigation determined that Collick and Exantus, a Laurel, Delaware resident, got physical with each other during an argument that rapidly escalated on Dec. 4, 2022, at a home in the 100 block of West Market Street in Salisbury.
During the argument, Collick allegedly stabbed Exantus and fled the scene.
Exantus was rushed to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
No information about Collick's initial court appearance or extradition has been released by state police.
